About Us
A Family-Owned Fence & Painting Contractor in Modesto, CA
California Crews has served homeowners and businesses across the Central Valley since 2001. Same founder, same promise: show up on time, do the job right, and leave the property cleaner than we found it.
Our Story
Joel Leer started California Crews in 2001 to give Central Valley homeowners a contractor they could count on. Today we run two experienced crews, and every crew member brings 20+ years of fencing and painting experience to the job.
We build custom wood fences and gates, repair fences after wind storms, and handle interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, fence staining and epoxy floor coatings. Our materials are chosen for this valley: premium redwood and cedar that hold up to heat and wind, and Vista Paint Weather Master and Carefree coatings that resist fading and peeling.
Most residential projects are finished in 3–5 days. Before we ask for payment, we walk the finished job with you. On projects of $5,000 or less there is no deposit, and payment is due on completion.
Licensed, bonded ($25,000 California contractor bond) and insured. BuildZoom score of 97 — top 18% of licensed contractors in California.
